Welcome to the South West Medicines for Children Local Research Network

Who We Are

Part of the

The NIHR Medicines for Children Research Network (MCRN) has been created to improve the co-ordination, speed and quality of randomised controlled trials and other well designed studies of medicines for children and adolescents, including those for prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

South West MCRN staff

We can facilitate research by:

  • Identifying potential sites and investigators in the region
  • Conducting detailed feasibility assessments
  • Facilitating meetings between investigators from different sites to allow experience to be shared
  • Provide support in obtaining local ethical and research governance approval
  • Assist with staff recruitment and training
  • Facilitate recruitment and help troubleshoot problems
  • Working with children and families to allow them to inform the way research is conducted
