Professor Adam Finn, Director Adam Finn is Professor of Paediatrics at the University of Bristol, UK. He is also an Honorary Consultant Paediatrician at The Bristol Royal Hospital for Children and leads the paediatric immunology and infectious diseases clinical service for Bristol and the South West region. His main recent research interests relate to elucidation of the nature of naturally acquired mucosal immunity to pneumococcus and meningococcus and development of tools to assess human immune responses to candidate vaccine antigens. He is active in laboratory and clinically based research. He sits on both the MCRN Industry and non Industry Study Adoption Committees and one of the Clinical Studies Groups. |

andrew.collinson@rcht.cornwall.nhs.uk Andrew Collinson, Co-Director Andrew Collinson is a Consultant in Paediatrics and Neonatology at the Royal Cornwall Hospital and has special interests in immunology, vaccinology and infection. Andrew conducted a detailed prospective cohort study of prenatal nutritional and environmental influences on immunological development in rural Gambian infants for his MD and subsequently collaborated with a number of other clinical studies in The Gambia and Bangladesh. He has acted as local principal investigator for several multicentre clinical studies, including randomised controlled trials in neonatology, vaccine development, childhood asthma, and HIV. Andrew was a co-investigator in a recent research trial comparing H1N1 pandemic influenza vaccines in children. Andrew jointly leads for the Peninsula part of our network with Dr Richard Tomlinson and is also the Paediatric Specialty Lead for PenCLRN. |

Professor Margaret Fletcher, Co-Director Margaret Fletcher is Professor of Clinical Nursing (Child Health) at the University of the West of England, Bristol, with UHBristol NHS Foundation Trust. Margaret is our Local Research Network lead for Training and for Involvement with Children and Families. |

Dr Ruth Allen, Manager Ruth Allen's previous research interests include rheumatology, bone marrow transplantation and paediatric diabetes. Ruth joined MCRN as Research Network Manager for the South West in August 2006. |

Natalie Fineman, Senior Research Nurse Natalie is based in Bristol and jointly leads our research nurse team with Tracey Bingham. Prior to joining MCRN in 2007 Natalie was manager of the Renal Unit at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. Natalie is a member of the MCRN Study Assessment Committee. She leads for MCRN South West on finding new sites for forthcoming portfolio studies. |

Tracey Bingham, Senior Research Nurse Tracey is based in Bristol and jointly leads our research nurse team with Natalie Fineman. Tracey works closely with all the CLRN funded paediatric research nurses associated with our team. Tracey has a background in Paediatric Intensive Care nursing and joined the team in May 2009. |

Marian Allen Marian Allen joined the Bristol MCRN team in Nov 2009, whilst working as a study nurse on PICU for the StePS (Steroids in Paediatric Sepsis) trial. Marian has previously worked in a variety of roles in the paediatric critical care setting. Areas include High Dependency Outreach, PICU and Resuscitation.

Sally Ayres Sally joined the Bristol Team in January 2011. She previously worked for Wiltshire PCT as the Immunisation Team Leader for HPV Accelerated Programme and before this as Ward Manager in the Barbara Russell Children's Centre at Frenchay Hospital, Bristol. |

Alison Barratt Alison joined the MCRN/WCLRN team in 2010 and is based at the Royal United Hospital, Bath. Alison trained as an adult and paediatric nurse and worked as a sister in paediatric A&E before moving to the South West. Prior to joining the MCRN Alison was working as an agency nurse in England and Wales covering a variety of wards and hospitals as well as the community. |

Sue Beames Sue is based in the Gloucester Royal Hospital and joined the MCRN/WCLRN in November 2010. Her background is in general paediatrics, surgery and high dependency. |

Helen Clark Helen is based in Bristol and joined the MCRN in May 2009. Her background is in children's oncology and haematology nursing. |

Michelle Curtis Michelle is based in Exeter and currently works as part of the MCRN/PenCLRN team and also works on the paediatric ward at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital as a Paediatric Respiratory Nurse. Michelle has a background in general paediatric nursing including adolescent care. |

Sue Doyle Sue is based at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton supporting MCRN and WCLRN paediatric research studies across Somerset and has been in post since July 2010. Prior to this she was part of the Children’s Community Team in Taunton supporting children with complex health needs at home, but has a varied nursing (and midwifery) background. Cate Atkins works with Sue and provides administrative support for paediatric studies as well as working with the Diabetes Research Network (cate.atkins@tst.nhs.uk). |

Sandra Dymond Sandra is based in Bristol and works in hospitals in the North East part of our region. Sandra has a background in renal children's nursing and more recently in children's vaccine trials. |

Deborah Hanley Debbie is based at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth, supporting MCRN and PenCLRN neonatal research studies as well as working as a Sister, part time, on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. |

Caroline Harrill Caroline has been a Paediatric nurse in Exeter for many years. Her background is in General Paediatrics, Allergy and Tuberculosis. She joined the MCRN team in August 2009. |

Clare Harrison Clare is based in Bristol and joined the team May 2008. Prior to this role her nursing background has been in Renal Nursing. |

Jo Jenkins Jo Jenkins joined the Bristol team in May 2011. Jo has a background in Paediatric Intensive Care and has also worked within a health visiting team as a community nurse. |

Anja Keating Anja is based in Bristol and joined the MCRN in November 2009. Prior to this Anja was a Ward Manager of a Medical Ward at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. |

Janet Palmer Jan has been a paediatric nurse for many years, having spent 15 years as Staff Nurse/Sister of a respite care unit and development centre, caring for children with life limiting/life threatened conditions as well as non-acute medical conditions. She joined the team in Torbay (South Devon Healthcare Foundation Trust) in March 2010 as Diabetic Research Nurse. In September 2011 that role expanded to support the full range of MCRN and PenCLRN paediatric research studies.

Claire Roberts Claire joined the team in May 2009, prior to this she worked with the British Heart Foundation conducting research into Congenital Heart Disease for 3 years, and before that in PICU and general peadiatrics. |

Alex Stannett Alex is based at Yeovil District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, supporting MCRN and WCLRN paediatric research studies. Alex has been in post since August 2011 and works 3 days a week in paediatric clinical trials and 2 days a week for the Children Community Nursing team. Her background is paediatric oncology and she takes the lead for paediatric cancer services at Yeovil.

Pippa Taylor Pippa joined the Bristol MCRN team in November 2010 on a year secondment from the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at the Bristol Children's Hospital. Pippa has a background in general paediatrics as well as haematology/oncology, and has previously worked in Plymouth and London. |

Catherine White Catherine is a peadiatric nurse who joined the MCRN in 2009 after 5 years in Neonatal Intensive Care, the last year of which was spent working a part time School Nursing Post as well. Prior to this Catherine worked a rotational post on a short stay surgical ward and renal unit.
