A new opportunity has arisen for a children’s nurse to join the paediatric team in the capacity of Research Nurse. This role will to assist in the provision of a clinical trials service within the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Medicines for Children Research Network portfolio as well as other research studies.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated experienced paediatric nurse to join our dedicated research teams within North Bristol NHS Trust (NBT).

The postholder will help with the recruitment, selection, and follow-up of participants in a programme of research studies directed towards the ultimate prevention of type 1 diabetes coordinated by the Diabetes and Metabolism research group of the University of Bristol.

The role will be based at Southmead Hospital but will require time to be spent at UH Bristol and other hospitals in the vicinity, as well as performing home visits.

You will be responsible for participant recruitment, obtaining informed consent, performing study investigations on participants and liasing with medical and research staff. The role will also entail working along side the Senior Research Nurse in the coordination of the programme of studies.
You will be part of a well established research team which offers a friendly and supportive work environment. The post offers a great opportunity for those who are looking for a period of research training within their clinical careers or who wish to build on their existing experience in research and develop their careers in this area. This position is full time but part time and job share will also be considered.

North Bristol NHS Trust recognises the need to invest in our research staff and is dedicated to the training and development of research staff. Therefore the line management responsibility for this post will lie with R&D, however the day to day management will be through the clinical area.
